One to three sheets
Sheet
vinyl flooring is produced in large rolls, so sheets are easily
customized for each job. For example, it only takes one vinyl sheet
to cover the floor in a small room. Installers use two or three
sheets for larger spaces, and because of careful installation, you
won't see the seams.
Sheet vinyl flooring is easy to care for

daily wear and tear. It takes little effort to wipe or mop up water

Underlayment
A
vinyl sheet can be placed directly on the subfloor or existing hard
surface flooring, but it’s usually best to add underlayment. In
addition to providing underfoot cushioning, padding adds thermal and
sound insulation. A vapor barrier underlayment is used if moisture is
present.
Vinyl flooring composition
Flexible
sheet vinyl flooring is composed of multiple layers. The backing
layer is situated beneath the core layer, which makes up the bulk of
the sheet. In addition, the image layer is protected by a transparent
wear layer designed for optimum durability.
Installing sheet vinyl flooring
While
sheet vinyl flooring is fastened to the subfloor with glue, you have
the option to install it differently. Perimeter-bond brands are glued
around the edges of the sheet. In contrast, the adhesive is placed
across the entire backside of the sheet when full-bond brands are
laid.
